How to Calculate ROI and Annualized Return
Return on investment (ROI) measures gain or loss relative to cost. The ROI formula: (current value - initial investment) Γ· initial investment Γ 100. Positive ROI means profit; negative means loss. Annualized ROI accounts for time value, showing average yearly return. An investment doubling in 5 years has a much higher annualized return than one taking 10 years.
